CID Officers at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Department in Kibuli turned into magicians and did a disappearing act when Prophet Elvis Mbonye Mugisha of Zoe Ministries turned up for questioning
Mbonye was appearing for the second time as per appointment from Monday but instead was left unattended to by the officers at the investigations headquarters.
Prophet Mbonye was summoned to answer questions in regards to a social media post he allegedly made against the just concluded countrywide immunisation campaign of children against Measles and Rubella.
According to Police, the statement was defaming hence he was invited to explain the intentions of publishing the post.
On Monday, Prophet Mbonye appeared before the media crimes department where he was interviewed by senior detective Henry Mugume but was told to return on Wednesday.
As per appointment, the elegant Prophet returned in show-stopping manner with a convoy that included his two personalized Range Rovers and a trail of other SUVs including Land Cruisers, Benzs and other luxury cars.
He was in an entourage of his lawyers and pastors who included Joseph Kabuleta, Simon Ssenyonga, Apostle Goodwill Magezi, Bishop K.Wisdom, Ronnie Kabwama, Michael Kigganda and Ernest Namara.
However, the prophet and his entourage were left in suspense when no detective attended to them.
Speaking to the press, Joseph Kabuleta expressed his dissatisfaction with the way officers handled them saying “Whatever kept them away from seeing the Prophet at a date and time they had given him remains a matter of speculation at the moment.”
He however told the press that the prophet was asked to return on 4th November, “but he will be represented by his counsels going forward.” Kabuleta said
Meanwhile all the time, about two hours, Mbonye never stepped out of his posh, tinted white Range Rover.
